Therme is big, busy at weekends and run by its own rules, from the wristband that opens your locker and pays at the bar to the age limit on the zones. First-time visitors lose time on things that are settled before leaving: what to bring, when to go, how long to stay and how to make a visit work with children or as a quiet afternoon.

What to bring
- Swimwear and flip-flops: compulsory in every zone, flip-flops in Elysium too.
- Towel and robe, or hire them at the entrance; in Elysium the robe is genuinely useful.
- ID for teenagers aged 14 and over entering The Palm or Elysium.
- A swim cap is not required, but long hair appreciates one on the slides.
- No cash needed inside: the wristband pays for everything and is settled at the exit.
When to go
On weekday mornings the complex is half empty; on weekday evenings The Palm is a private garden. Saturday afternoon is the worst time, with a queue at the desk and Galaxy at capacity. In winter Therme is at its best: snow on the glass and water at 33 °C; December and January are the most photographed months and, at weekends, the fullest. In summer The Palm's outdoor terrace adds open-air pools.

How long to stay
| Plan | Ticket | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy with children | 3 or 4.5-hour pass | An afternoon |
| The Palm for a couple | Upper zones | Late afternoon until closing |
| Elysium saunas | Full day | From the morning, with lunch inside |
| Layover at Otopeni | 3-hour pass | Between two flights, ten-minute taxi |
With children
Under-14s stay in Galaxy, which for them is everything: a lagoon with water games for the little ones, slides with height limits for the bigger ones, a wave pool at announced intervals. An adult must accompany them and cannot leave them to go to The Palm. Children's wristbands are linked to the adult's for payments. The Galaxy restaurant has a children's menu; high chairs are there without asking.
Rules you find out too late
- The pass clock starts at the turnstiles, not on arrival: changing is inside the three hours.
- Overstay the pass and you pay the difference at the exit, automatically via the wristband.
- In Elysium you enter the saunas in silence and without a phone; infusions have posted times.
- Galaxy slides have height limits and close in rotation for maintenance.
- Food and drink from outside are not allowed; the restaurants cover the whole day.

Chosen time slot, voucher on your phone, free cancellation up to 24 hours before: the way to avoid the Saturday queue.
Tickets on GetYourGuideWhat to combine it with
Therme takes half a day; the other half goes to central Bucharest, between the Palace of Parliament, the Lipscani old town and Calea Victoriei, or to Lake Snagov with its monastery, a quarter of an hour from the complex. Anyone flying in and out the same day picks Therme precisely because it is ten minutes from the airport: the how to get there page covers taxis and shuttles, the zones page what to expect inside.
What do I need to get into Therme Bucharest?
