Therme București is at Balotești on the DN1 towards Ploiești, 20 kilometres north of central Bucharest and 5 kilometres from Henri Coandă airport at Otopeni. No station is within walking distance: you arrive by shuttle, taxi, ride-hailing app or car. The simplest option for anyone staying in the centre without a car is the ticket with transfer included, which fixes both the outward and the return journey; the cheapest is the shuttle from Piața Romană.

By shuttle

Therme runs a shuttle from central Bucharest, leaving Piața Romană with intermediate stops along Calea Victoriei and the DN1, several times a day in each direction; the timetable changes with the season and should be checked on the official site the day before. The shuttle ticket is bought online with the entry or on board. At weekends the afternoon runs fill up: book if you want a seat. Alternatively, the ticket with transfer sold on GetYourGuide includes the return journey with a fixed pick-up time, the most convenient choice for an evening.

By taxi, Uber or Bolt

From the centre a ride takes 30 to 40 minutes depending on DN1 traffic, which can double on a Friday evening, and costs roughly 25-35 EUR. From the airport it is 10 minutes: with a long layover or a late flight, Therme is the most sensible thing to do near Otopeni. Bolt and Uber work well in Bucharest and the pick-up point at the exit of the complex is signposted.

By car

From the centre take Șoseaua București-Ploiești (DN1) north, pass the airport and Balotești; the Therme entrance is signposted on the right. The car park is large and paid by the hour. Coming off the A3 motorway, exit at Moara Vlăsiei and reach the DN1 in ten minutes.

Book before you plan the journey

First the ticket with its time slot, then the shuttle or taxi that fits it. With the transfer included the two steps become one.

Anyone wanting to add another outing finds Snagov Monastery on its lake a quarter of an hour away, with the tomb attributed to Vlad the Impaler, and Băneasa shopping centre on the way back for dinner.
